Boswell Surveying Solutions was established in 2015 by James Brownlie, a Chartered Building Surveyor, and is quickly gaining a reputation for exceptional customer service within the claims management sector.
Offering a high level of experience and professionalism, we work with a broad range of clients, taking initial instructions from insurance brokers, insurers, loss adjusters and other building professionals, as well as the general public.
With a vast network of trusted contacts throughout the loss adjusting and building professions, we offer a full service, overseeing contracts from initial inspection through to final completion, and implementing all Health and Safety procedures. Based in Glasgow, we work across Scotland, the North of England and Northern Ireland.

After starting out in his family’s construction business, James graduated in Building Surveying in 1998 and qualified as a Chartered Building Surveyor in 2002. With over 20 years’ experience in the loss adjusting profession, he has held senior positions with national firms such as Cunningham Lindsey, where he specialised in High Net Worth building reinstatement contracts throughout the United Kingdom.
Now managing his own consultancy, James offers a bespoke service to meet his clients’ needs, dealing with insurance claims of every size and type, from large commercial claims, to small domestic losses. Both candid and conscientious, James shows complete commitment to each one of his projects to achieve successful outcomes for his clients.
